This was such an amazing find! I love how the shower head is transparent, making it really easy to see when to replace the filter. The filter turned yellow for me in 2 months — I was not expecting my water to be so dirty. These are so worth the price and I would definitely come back for them :)

I was skeptical a $29.99 showerhead could actually filter anything. Then I pulled the cartridge after a few weeks and compared it to a fresh one — see the photos. What went in bright white came out packed with brown sediment. That's stuff that used to hit my skin every shower.

The filtration clearly does its job, and pressure is still strong despite the filter. My skin's noticeably less dry since switching.

One of the best shower heads out there. I’ve used different brands from Amazon and target, but this is the best. Also easy to know when to change as there is a visible indication. Definitely must have. I think it also helps soften the water where I live. My hair feels a lot better after using this. My skin also cleared up a lot after using this shower heads for a few months.

Installation

Simple enough to do yourself. No plumber required.

Remove the old mount, wrap the threads

Take off your existing shower mount and wrap the included Teflon tape around the faucet threads.

Insert the mount and tighten

Hand-tighten the new mount into the faucet, then secure it firmly with a wrench.

Connect the hose to the mount

Attach your shower hose to the mount — make sure the rubber ring is in place to prevent leaks.

Lock the showerhead onto the hose

Pull the Mizuco showerhead onto the hose end until it clicks into place.

Questions we hear a lot

Will this soften my water?

Not in the same way a whole-home water softener does. A softener removes calcium and magnesium, which make water hard. Mizuco doesn't remove those minerals — it filters out rust, sediment, and trace heavy metals, and its antibacterial stage inhibits bacteria growth. If whole-home softening is your goal, you'll want a dedicated softener; if you want cleaner, filtered water at the showerhead, that's exactly what this does.

How often should I replace the filter?

Every 1–2 months for both the head and body filters, depending on your household's water use and quality. If the filter looks visibly discolored or you notice weaker pressure, replace it sooner.

What's actually inside the filter?

A 3-stage system: a body sediment filter that removes rust, debris, and trace heavy metals down to 5 microns, an antibacterial ceramic ball stage that inhibits bacteria growth, and a head sediment filter for a final clarity pass right before the spray plate.

Will it fit my shower?

It uses a standard 1/2" NPT thread, which fits the large majority of US showers. No tools or plumber needed — it screws on by hand in about 5 minutes.

Will it affect my water pressure or temperature?

It won't change your water temperature — it only filters flow, it doesn't heat or cool anything. The spray plate is engineered with fine holes to maintain or even boost pressure feel.

It's leaking at the connection — what do I do?

Almost always the washer. Make sure the rubber washer is seated flat, hand-tighten the connection firmly without cross-threading, and add plumber's (PTFE) tape to the thread if it's still dripping.

Is it recyclable?

The housing is PC/ABS plastic, which is recyclable through standard plastics recycling — check your local guidelines for the correct stream.
